2 Oak to Cinco de Mayo

Yesterday was a dreary rainy day.  I had to run a few errands that I've been putting off though like groceries and bank accounts.
I ventured out into the rain grabbing an umbrella that the landloard had left  as I rushed out the door.  As I opened it up I realized it was COVERED in multicoloured cats...just my luck.  I looked like a bit of a fool but I just accepted it and carried on.
I went to Chase bank to figure out my banking stuff and I would HIGHLY suggest going there if you ever need an american bank account.  No social security number needed, just a visa or maybe even not.
We went out to 1 Oak which was around the corner from Avenue, it was a very fun spot, very very busy because Bruno Mars was there...he's pretty short.
After the bar we went to 'Artichoke' a pizza place next door and had slices of their very famous artichoke pizza, delish...but can't happen every night out, please.

Today was a sleep in day, but once we hit the streets it was sunny and warm and lovely.  The three of us walked over to meatpacking, to scout out my route to my internship.  We took Bleaker st. all the way there and I can't wait to walk it every day!  Tons of cute shops and restaurants, and restaurant shops ugh I'm going to be so broke.  We met up with our dear friend at Meatpacking and grabbed a gourmet vegan all natural gluten free lunch at the convienence store...only in trendy New York is this an option.  We ate outside in a public little benchy area right at 14th and 8th.

Once we were recharged with vegan soba noodles and sun, we walked our way east with an end goal of 'Fabulous Fannys'.  No, not what you'd think, it's a glasses store with hundreds of thousands of pairs of new and vintage glasses.  The walk was long, but I hadn't explored this far east yet and it was just lovely.  (just got a txt saying there's a Comme de Garcons sample sale 70% off, gotta wrap this up, seriously. broke.)  We found the store and I'm seriously debating screwing up my eyes somehow to get to wear glasses, I don't care what anyone says they are a great accessory and I can't handle just wearing them with fake lenses.

After mulling through all those glasses (and walking 10 miles) we were starving and exhausted and it was CINCO DE MAYO!!!!So we were all craving some mexican food and happy hour drinks.  We ended up at this restaurant called Devil something something that had 1$ Tostados and half price beer, and went to town. We stumbled home at 8:30 and stopped off at the liquor store where I got a 60 of rum for 20$, god bless America.  We went out to a local bar down the street from us called Naked Lunch, it was busy enough compared to other bars in the area.

Now it's today and I'm going to go and try not to blow my budget on this sample sale...wish me luck!
